“USING THE AUTHORITY THAT IS YOURS” Encounters with Jesus XIII Matthew 4:1-11 James 4:7-10

“Since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have One who has been tempted IN EVERY WAY, just as we are--YET WITHOUT SIN! Let s then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need!”

YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO SUBMIT WHEN TEMPTED {TESTED}

YOU WILL BE TESTED THROUGHOUT YOUR CHRISTIAN LIFE…JUST AS JESUS WAS TESTED THROUGH HIS LIFE ON EARTH!

TESTING IS NOT MEANT TO MAKE US BAD…it is meant to make us good! TESTING IS NOT MEANT TO MAKE US SIN…it is meant to enable us to conquer sin! TESTING IS NOT MEANT TO WEAKEN US…it is meant to make us emerge stronger! TESTING COMES TO ALL PEOPLE WHOM GOD WISHES TO USE!

JESUS’ COMMAND TO SATAN… “GET LOST!”

“So, if you think you are standing firm, BE CAREFUL that you don’t fall! No temptation/testing has seized you except what is common to all. GOD IS FAITHFUL; HE WILL NOT LET YOU BE TESTED BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN BEAR! But, WHEN you are tested, HE WILL ALSO PROVIDE A WAY OUT SO THAT YOU CAN STAND UP UNDER IT!”

PRESCRIPTION FOR VICTORY OVER TESTING “SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God. RESIST the devil, and he will flee from you. DRAW NEAR to God, and He will draw near to you. CLEANSE YOUR HANDS you sinners, and PURIFY YOUR HEARTS you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. HUMBLE YOURSELVES before the Lord, and HE WILL EXALT YOU!”

REMEMBER… GOD HAS CREATED YOU TO SUCCEED…AND NOT FAIL! GOD HAS PROMISED YOU ABUNDANT LIFE…NOT A DEFEATED LIFESTYLE! GOD HAS SAID “YOU CAN” SO DON’T LET THE WORD “CAN’T BE IN YOUR VOCABULARY!

REMEMBER… GOD HAS CONFIDENCE IN YOU…NOW, YOU MUST HAVE CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF! IF YOU STUMBLE…AND YOU WILL…REMEMBER YOU BELONG TO GOD…CONFESS YOUR SIN…LEAVE IT WITH GOD…AND MOVE ON…

YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER JUST LIKE JESUS… REMEMBER… YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER JUST LIKE JESUS… BELIEVE IT!
