Peer Editing – Step One (PFO) Highlight the Main Claim and mini-claims for each paragraph GREEN Circle anytime the paper uses I, You, We, Us Put a Box around the transitional words/phrases for each paragraph If anything sounds confusing, bracket [ ] the confusing part and add a question mark ? Underline opinion words (perfect, excellent, wonderful, great, best, etc). Does the essay make sense? ___________ Is the essay ordered appropriately? __________ Missing any paragraphs? ___________________

Peer Editing – Step Four (Scoring) Review proofreading marks and rubric, then score the rough draft (use your rubric/adjectives worksheet to do this): PFO: /4 E&E: /4 CoS: /2 Total: /10 Staple this Proofreading sheet to the front of the essay and return to owner. Owner: Write one paragraph explaining what you would have changed had you been given the opportunity, staple it to the back of the original and turn in to bin.
