GLIMPSES OF THE DEPARTMENT

Postgraduate clinics We have a fully equipped Post graduate clinic of 11 chairs. Comprehensive treatment is provided by the post graduates for all the patients referred from the camp. Preventive procedures like Pit and Fissure sealants and Topical fluoride application are provided as a part of school health programs.

Under graduate clinics The department has a separate UG clinic with 14 fully equipped dental chairs for the Undergraduate students.

Health education Museum The Health education museum is used to educate the patients regarding oral health and diseases. Various posters and models are displayed in this regard.

Tobacco Counselling cell The tobacco counselling cell offers help to those patients who are willing to quit and even counsels against the harm effects of tobacco.

Departmental Library The department is equipped with latest and recent editions of textbooks and journals

OUTREACH PROGRAMMES

The department conducts regular outreach programes to provide oral health care to the under privileged and the underserved. Our Mobile Dental Van has 2 fully functional dental chairs

LCD TV is used to deliver oral health education and provide motivation to the masses about the importance of oral health.

Portable chair is used where Mobile Dental Van can not be taken.

SATELLITE CENTERS We have 2 satellite centers which are well-equipped for providing optimal dental care like oral prophylaxis, restorations and extractions to the local population. 1.Satellite center I - Satrikh road. 2.Satellite Center II – Jan Kalyan Pariwar Sangh (TELCO), Matiyari.

School oral health education is a regular part of the outreach programes

FUTURE SCOPE Public Health Dentists have employment opportunities in Railways, Community Healthcare Services ,Military Hospitals and NGOs, international health agencies (WHO,UNICEF, Red cross etc.). In Government jobs, they will be involved in Leading the Surveys and preparing the Reports for the Government etc.

1. The Post Graduate students of the Department will be posted in clinical Departments for 3 Months each. 2. The students will also get to do certificate courses in Implants , fixed prosthesis, lasers, forensic dentistry, nutrition, geriatric dentistry etc in discounted fees.

I am very fortunate and blessed to have been taught, guided and inspired by all my beloved teachers. I am eternally grateful to our beloved Anuradha Ma,am  for what I am today. I feel so proud to be an alumni of this great Department and dental college. Overall the enjoyment and learning experience is awesome and I have memories that I will forever cherish. Currently working as  Assistant Professor, Public Health Dentistry,Faculty of Dental Sciences, King George's Medical University,  Lucknow,U.P. I feel blessed to be a part of the Department of Public Health Dentistry at BBDCODS. The Head of Department Dr. Anuradha madam and eminent faculty including Dr. Sahana madam,  Dr. Manu sir, Dr. Shweta madam have all been very supportive and encouraging throughout the course.  Dr. Anuradha ma’am has taught me quite a lot...she has always had faith in me And guided me whenever i needed. She is the one who has always given me strength and helped me build up a new confidence.  All through the years our treachers have scolded us, even punished us but have been equally helpful be it in academics or non-academicic fields. The seniors as well as the co-pgs and juniors have all been very inspirational, helpful and supportive always. I don’t have words to express the appreciation and recognition our faculty deserves. At this moment I can just say that the days in this department were the best days of my life and i have taken away valuable memories to cherish for a lifetime ... Currently working as Senior Lecturer,  Sppgidms, Lucknow .. It’s matter of great pride n prestige to be part of phd Dept at Bbdcods under dynamic n charismatic leadership of our beloved H.o.d dr Anuradha madam n eminent faculty dr Sahana madam, dr Manu sir, dr Shweta madam..I fall short of words to express my wholehearted gratitude n respect for our Hod dr Anuradha madam for carving me out for what I am today .those 3 years were full package of masti,fun ,learning n growing with my seniors , co-pg n juniors ... memories etched for life time to cherish ... Currently working as  Reader , SGPGIDMS Lucknow .. BBD my alma mater! One of the esteemed educational institute in  India .         I still remember my first day of college ! It feels like yesterday . I was very anxious yet excited to join back college for my post graduation after a gap of 8 years.  The first sight of the college was amazing . The campus was awesome and huge.  I had come to pursue my dream subject public health dentistry .           Dr Anuradha P  is the HOD of the department . My three years journey could not have been possible without ma'am . She is one gem of a person I know . Without her support I must say, it was not possible . All the staff of The department is very friendly . I am thank ful to the entire BBD management and all the staff of the college .  I really have all the good memories with this college which I will cherish my whole life . Thank you BBD !!
