The body/soul distinction is a myth invented by philosophers such as Plato.” Discuss To include: Explain the distinction formulated by Plato and his belief in an immortal soul and reincarnation. The distinction expresses a belief in life beyond the physical demise of the body. Explain that Christian beliefs in the soul, as expressed by people such as Hick, do not encompass reincarnation but do hold that the soul moves on to live beyond this world.
