Idols in the Heart Ezekiel 14:1-8

Our priorities vs Gods priorities God knows what we really need as opposed to what we think we need God is about His Glory and His name

Isa 48:11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Eze 20:8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. Eze 20:9 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

Our priorities vs Gods priorities God knows what we really need as opposed to what we think we need God is about His Glory and His name, We are where we need to be when our lives show that God’s priorities are our priorities

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:  Eph 1:12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Our priorities vs Gods priorities God knows what we really need as opposed to what we think we need God is about His Glory and His name, We are where we need to be when our lives show that God’s priorities are our priorities God doesn’t commune with idolaters.

1Co 10:20  But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.  1Co 10:21  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.  1Co 10:22  Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?  1Co 10:23  All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Our priorities vs Gods priorities God knows what we really need as opposed to what we think we need God is about His Glory and His name, We are where we need to be when our lives show that God’s priorities are our priorities God doesn’t commune with idolaters. But He will deal with them

Idolatry of the heart An idol is something, other than God, that you go to in order to get what you want. Physical idolatry Heart idolatry

Lucifer Self Worship Eze 28:17  Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Adam and Eve Lusts and Desires Gen 2:16  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:  Gen 2:17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.  Gen 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Giving of the law Clear instruction in Gods #1 Command Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Exo 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

The reason So we can love God as He loves us Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Mar 12:29  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:  Mar 12:30  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  Mar 12:31  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Removing idols Casting down high places Identifying Heart Idols Time and Temp….er

Have one god Is He enough? Cast down your idols 2Co 7:11  For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
