The Character of Christ Philippians 2:1-11 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. - Fulfilled

The Character of Christ 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, - Fulfilled

The Character of Christ We all need the encouragement of Christ. Encouragement comes: A. Through the comforting power of love. 1 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, Fulfilled

For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ - Fulfilled

And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. Fulfilled

He is loving. 4 I led them with cords of kindness, with the bands of love, and I became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws, and I bent down to them and fed them. The Character of Christ Encouragement comes through the comforting power of love, through our participation with the Holy Spirit, through our display of affection and sympathy, through our unity and through our selflessness. But to do this we all need to have the mind of Christ. He is wise, just, righteous, faithful, truthful, compassionate, gallant and loving. We most certainly will be an encouragement to others as we model the example of Christ through our servanthood, humility, and obedience all for the glory of God. Fulfilled
