Sustainability…  …meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability to meet those of the future Our Common Future Report / UN Almost all nations supports the 17 UN Sustainable development goals (SDGs) for the period 2015-2030 The17 SDGs can be considered a global roadmap for directed development and innovation to fulfill a series of unmet needs from worlds population In many ways this requires a revolution in terms of creating technologies that are indeed sustainable. Sustain is a yearly event to help this development

The environmental aspect of Sustainability… Much attention is on climate, but this is only a small part of the stressed planetary boundaries that are being pushed into uncertain consequences. Future solutions must address far more than just climate and CO2 equivalents! Planetary boundaries: Guiding human development on a changing planet Science, Feb. 2015. http://www.sciencemag.org.globalproxy.cvt.dk/content/347/6223/1259855.abstract http://www.sciencemag.org.globalproxy.cvt.dk/content/347/6223/1259855

is causing the main part of your environmental impact Our view of Sustainability is evolving What’s your current environmental ‘footprint’… Given the complex origin of your environmental impact today, with food production a major influence; …and the likely increasing importance of the other aspects than ‘climate’ with Biodiversity, N and P scarcity coming up as severely stressed boundaries; …add to this that 80% of the world population is projected to be living in cities now being built at unprecedented pace; …and the impact of an aging population with the unavoidable demographic change requiring a far more efficient healthcare system to maintain wellbeing; >> The required changes to society will be pervasive in both our technology and life style! Services, restaurants, leisure, insurance Food and Drink is causing the main part of your environmental impact Shopping: clothes, shoes, electronics etc etc Transport in car, plane, and cargo Housing: energy, furniture, maintenance…
