Therefore, normal crop production is expected from Kharif crops . There is no major outbreak of disease and pest. Prospects of Kharif Maize, pulses and Oil seeds seems to be promising.

STRATEGY FOR CROP MANAGEMENT FOR RABI, 2013-14 Expansion of Area under summer Rice with a targeted additional production of 5,600 MT. Expansion of Area under Rabi Maize with a targeted additional production of 1,500 MT. Additional area coverage of 2,150 Hectares under Rabi Pulse and Oil seeds with increase production. Strengthening Farmers Field school through NFSM-Rice and RKVY. Promotion of Farm Mechanization through establishment of custom hiring center at three locations to ensure timely farm operations. Conducting state wide campaign for seed treatment for Rabi crops. Promotion and popularization of HYV seeds of Rice, Maize, Pulses and Oilseeds to achieve the desirable seed replacement.

STRATEGY FOR CROP MANAGEMENT FOR RABI, 2013-14 Seeds: Seeds requirement of improved variety of paddy (CAU R-1), pulses (F.Pea - Arkel & Rajma- Arka Anup & Arka Kamal) and oil seeds (M-27) have been finalized and procurement of seeds is under process. INM: The total Fertilizer requirement for Rabi, 2013 (Urea-1000 MT, DAP-500 MT, MOP-500 MT and SSP-800 MT) has been approved by the Govt. of India. Bio-fertilizers like Rhizobium, Azatobacter, Phosphorous Solubilizing Microbes etc. will be promoted as a component of INM to ensure balance and integrated use of fertilizer. Slaked Lime will be distributed to Farmers at subsidized rate to improve crop productivity. IPM: Integrated Pest Management will be popularized through adoption of Bio-control agents like Trichoderma, Pseudomonas and Trichograma.

ISSUES OF CONCERN Low productivity: Rice productivity per Ha. (2012-13) is 1460 kg per Ha. which is well below the National average of 2240 kg. per Ha. Small & Marginal land holding: Average land holding is only 0.50 Ha against National average of 1.33 hectare. Low consumption of Fertilizer: Average fertilizer consumption is only 78.50 kg. per Ha. against National average of 129 kg. per hectare. Negligible application of Micronutrients as only 3.20 % of gross cropped area is covered with Micronutrients. Availability of Farm power is only 0.75 Kw. Per Ha against national average of 1.20 Kw per Ha. Lack of proper farm Road connectivity is one of the major constraint for the development of Agriculture.
