Targets

Guided Reading Children have 1 guided reading session with their teacher to work on targets and challenge the children. Home reading books are changed weekly and assessed half termly or when teacher feels the need to move them forward.

Letters and sounds Children are streamlined into groups. Spellings We assess the children frequently and adapt the groups where necessary. Y1 Phonics screening

Reading challenge Last year was noticed that only 50% of children were reading the recommended 4 times a week at home. This year we are having a BIG push on reading at home. Green- 4+ Yellow- 2/3 times Red- 0/1 As a school the class with the highest % on green receives a certificate in assembly Every child on green has their name drawn out of a hat and they win a book and have a treat.

Behaviour 1 polite warning Child moves to yellow Child moves to red- 10 minutes in link class and move back to green No polite warning, immediately to yellow Move to red- 1 hour out of class and parents are contacted. Welfare tracker
