What to look for in a Business School - Pete Programs! Ranking Admission requirements Accreditation (AACSB) Tuition/scholarships Size/location Internship opportunities Alumni network

Packaging Yourself (non-competitive aid)- Derrick Apply Early (Feb. 15th) Accurately complete FAFSA to the best estimation (if taxes aren’t done yet) Check your accounts often! 4-years usually automatically package awards, students must check their accounts to accept/decline awards or you may lose them Students must check the email you put on your FAFSA to accept/decline state awards (including delegate/senatorial awards). Be sure to accept any institutional monies, even smaller $500’ish awards, they add up. Be aware of residency requirements for out-of-state schools. Be aware that full-time may be 12-15 credits for the same price.

Financial Aid at CCBC -Derrick Make sure your major is up-to-date. If not, go enrollment services to update it. If you log into https://ccbcmd.academicworks.com/ your major, zip code, and other demographics will be matched with possible CCBC scholarship. Click on more details to read further about these scholarships. If you have a financial emergency CCBC has a financial literacy program that may be able to assist you. Contact Financial Aid. Carefully read through each of the guidelines and contact the appropriate personnel for clarification, if you need it. Also, if you have a favorite instructor or you have formed a strong connection to an academic advisor, tutor, or some other type of mentor in higher education, feel free to ask him or her to write you a letter of recommendation. Be sure to give this individual plenty of advanced notice and provide them with a brief summary of your accomplishments or why you feel you deserve the admission or scholarship that you are seeking.” – Jeanne Gyr, Assistant Director of Admissions Towson University

Goals -Derrick Have realistic goals Have a backup plan How long will this major take me on top of my community college credits Will I commute or live on campus (parking?). Can I make it to my classes on time? Do I have the funding needed for this program, how much is it?! Have a backup plan What if I don’t get in, or what if I am deferred a semester. Look at different financial packages, what if your second choice offers a much better package?
