Aurora Textile Pilot Door to Door Textile Collection RFP Spring 2016 No response Based on all the potential candidates, The Town selected Textile Waste Diversion Capacity, provide data

Aurora Textile Pilot Curbside Pilot Bin Pilot 3 collection dates July 2016, September 2016, January 2017 3000 homes Bin Pilot 4 bins located on Town property July 2016 Daily collection

Expansion Program Expansion (February 2017) Expanded to 17,000 households Monthly Collection First Monday of each month (no waste collection on Mondays) Total collected so far is 58.1 tonnes

Lessons Learned Public education is key in program success Collection bins are far more high yielding and cost effective to manage Door to door collection is quite low yielding and is expensive for the TWD. Out door clothing bins help fund the door to door service Scavenging has become an issue with door to door pick-up. Resident prefer a variety of options so they can choose the cause that works with their lifestyle and values.
