South Green Elementary * Mrs. Brittney * Mrs. Erin * Mrs. Renee * November 13-17, 2017 * FALL THANKSGIVING We will: Learn about the First Thanksgiving Play a memory game of “Under Which Turkey?” Count how many turkeys are in the field and use corresponding counter in a ten frame. Create a shapes Turkey and then add patterned tail feathers Use our manners to say “Yes, Please” or “No, Thank you,” as we sort Thanksgiving foods by whether we would like to eat them or not. Go on a walking field trip to the grocery store and shop for items to make soup Tell about things for which we are grateful Important Dates *Nov. 13-17: Parent/Teacher conferences at GPA. *Nov. 13-17: November Family Involvement “Food Drive” *Nov. 14: Walking field trip to the grocery store. *Nov. 16: Picture retakes for those who were absent. *Nov.22-24: Thanksgiving Break NO SCHOOL *Dec. 8: Ms. Marla Story Time, from Weldon Library *Dec. 18: December Family involvement. Watch for more details. *Dec. 19: Pajama Day at GPA *Dec. 20-Jan. 1: Christmas Break Homework Help your child disguise a turkey. We will use the turkeys to decorate our classroom for Thanksgiving. Leadership Habit 4: Think Win-Win GPA November Family Involvement We will have a canned food drive November 13-17, and donate what we collect to a local food pantry. There will be a graph in our lobby on which you can help your child graph the type of food you donate. You can do this anytime you bring your child in or pick your child up. You may also send cans to school with your child and we will help him/her graph their donation. Thank you for participating!  Be a leader: Be Thankful and Share! That is a Win-Win attitude! South Green Elementary Fall Festival  Saturday, November 18th at SGE from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.  Food, fun, and lots of great baskets will be available to be auctioned off.  Lots of great Christmas ideas!
