Earth’s Orbit Earth moves around the sun. This is called a revolution. One revolution is completed every 365 ¼ days = 1 YEAR The path Earth takes around the sun is called an orbit. Earth’s orbit is shaped like an ellipse.

seasons Earth is split into 2 parts- Northern and Southern Hemispheres Earth has seasons because its axis is tilted. The axis always points in the same direction which causes parts of Earth to be pointed toward and away from the sun throughout the year.
