Factors that influence life Unit 1 – third factor

Growth and development Growth is a change in size or weight and is easy to measure Physical - PIES Development is about learning new skills and being able to do different things, count, write, have our own feelings Intellectual, Emotional, Social – PIES If you are asked a question about health and well-being, refer to the whole of PIES

The Factors The last factor is Psychological factors The first factor was economic factors – can you remember what key things influence your life economically ? The second factor was physical environment – can you remember what key things influence your life in your physical environment ? The last factor is Psychological factors

Psychological factors This area is concerned with relationships that support us Family Friends Personal or intimate relationships

Task 1 With your shoulder partner write down how these three types of relationships support us throughout life. Use PIES to help you. Split this into : early life adolescence adulthood For example: In early life our family teach us about socialisation , they also help meet all our physical needs like feeding us, washing and dressing. Can you think of how they help us intellectually and emotionally? 15 minutes then we will feed back. By the end of the lesson you will have three mind maps one for each type of relationship related to PIES

Why are good relationships important? Think back to unit 4 – relationships. How does a good relationship help with growth and development ?
