In-class task 1: Preparing interview questions

1. Decide on a topic you want to study. Write your aim and RQ(s). 2. Use a mind map before you develop your interview questions—possible in two ways A) develop a mind map yourself B) ask the participants to develop their mind maps on the topic you give them Developing a mind map Write the central mode Use branches for sub-thems about the topic: the first branch is the most important; the other are less Use one branch for each sub-theme (if you want you can make each sub-them a different color

You can use free software program mindmapfree You can use free software program mindmapfree.com to develop your mind map) 4. Analyze your mind maps to see what themes have occured 5. Develop your interview questions according to these themes. 6. Interview a few people to pilot your questions
