Name three things about water that make it unique or important Name three things about water that make it unique or important. Water can exist as a liquid, gas, or solid; it can fit in any container; it sustains life; it can form into a drop. How much of Earth’s water is fresh water? 3% Explain the three processes that make up the water cycle. Evaporation – Liquid water changes into water vapor (gas) Condensation – Water vapor changes into Clouds (liquid) Precipitation – Water falls from clouds as rain or snow How can a drop of salt water once have been a drop of fresh water? The fresh water flowed into the ocean, where dissolved salts and water mixed with it. What are two differences between salt water and fresh water? Salt water contains salts and other minerals and cannot sustain human life; Fresh water has little or no taste. Why did the discovery of ice on the surface of the moon excite some people who thought there was a chance of finding life on the moon? IF there is water – there could be life!
