Presentation transcript:

Invitation to Inaugural Lecture “A journey on waves, nonlinear vibrations and topology optimization to the micro world of acoustic devices”   The advent of advanced optimization tools and techniques for high precision manufacturing, even of microscopic details, now allows us to conceive, design and realize highly complex structures and materials with both fascinating and novel properties. The talk will highlight the main research achievements within diverse engineering fields such as photonic crystal waveguides, acoustic and elastic wave propagation and nonlinear mechanical vibrations. Finally, the talk will point towards future applications in the area of acoustic micro devices - an emerging field where complicated interaction between acoustics and mechanics at the micro scale creates both new challenges but also great opportunities. Med venlig hilsen Jakob Søndergaard Jensen Professor, dr.techn.
