We rely on our postgraduate demonstrators to deliver high quality teaching to thousands of students each year
What is the teaching? Using online tutorials to teach academic IT Skills. Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsfot PowerPoint Academic IT skills Word Excel PowerPoint All UG and PG students in FMS, PG in SAgE 450+ hours annually Online tutorials Led by a qualified teacher Problem-based, student-led approach Learning linked to assessment
What’s involved? Work in a team of up to 3 inc session lead (staff). Working in the computer clusters. Most sessions last for 2 hours. Sessions are allocated evenly across the dem team of ~15 students. Up to 90 students. 2-6 hours per month. Each week is different. Sessions are allocated according to availability. Payment month in arrears. Responsibilities of a Demonstrator Prepare thoroughly. Answer student queries. Seek advice and guidance from other members of the teaching team. Frequent reflective practice following each teaching session.
