Understanding Conflict Responding to Conflict Your primary concern should be your health and safety. Walking away from a potentially dangerous situation is a mature, healthful choice. Minor conflicts can often be resolved by a simple compromise. A compromise may be difficult to reach if the differences of opinion are strong or concern serious matters.

Conflict Resolution Respect for Oneself and Others To resolve a conflict fairly and effectively, you must show respect for yourself and others. When you are tolerant of different viewpoints or ideas, fewer conflicts arise.
