What is ‘The Big Pedal?’ The Big Pedal is the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge. The Big Pedal is the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge that inspires pupils, staff and parents to choose two wheels for their journey to school. On each day of the challenge schools compete to see who can record the greatest number of bicycle and scooter journeys. Last year…. We launched The Big Pedal in a BIG way! Over 70% of Gomer Junior School pupils and staff cycled or scooted to school. We won a fantastic prize. It was a lot of fun

This Year… Cycle or scoot to school every day and encourage your friends, school staff and adults at home to do the same.

Our plan….. As a school to cycle/scoot around the world (24,901 miles at the equator)! Everyone is involved, pupils and staff, even if you don’t have a bike. Plan your route and work out how many miles you will cycle. Have a go on the exercise bike during break or lunch time. Add your miles together with the rest of the class. Can we cycle round the world in 10 days?
