Parent Workshop Physical Development

Moving and Handling 22-36m • Runs on whole foot. • Can bend down and stand up without using hands •Climbs confidently • Kick a ball •Turns pages in a book • Uses jugs to pour and mark-making tools • Tripod grip • Draw simple shapes • Uses two feet to a step. • Preference for dominant hand.

• Moves in a range of ways • Climbs up and down stairs using alternate feet • Runs confidently • Balance on one foot • Catch a ball • Use tools effectively • Draws lines and circles using gross motor movements • Correct pencil grip • Copy letters

Health and self-care 22-36m • Feed them self and drink independently • Say when they need the toilet • Recognise danger and ask for help • Helps with clothing •Beginning to be independent

30-50m • Talk about needs • Observes changes in their body • Understands that equipment and tools have to be used safely • Can use the toilet independently • Can wash and dry hands •Dresses with some help.
