Second Grade Team Sugarland Elementary Contact Us March 2016 Math: Symmetry and shapes. How many corners, sides, and vertices does each shape have? Fractions, and parts of a whole. Ask your student the different fractions they’ve learned, like: ½, 1/3, ¼, and 1/8. Science: The water cycle and weather. Ask your student about different storms? Students will also work on understanding non-fiction, by making predictions, and finding the main idea. Students will also work on reading reference materials. What we’ll be learning… Social Studies: Ancient Egypt and China. Ask your student about the different contributions from each place. Also, discuss the architecture, climate, and where they are located on a map of the world. Students will discover how these two ancient societies still have an influence on life today.
