The Changing Earth: Chapter 3 Mountains and Volcanoes
All About Volcanoes. Volcanoes can be quite scary, especially if they erupt when you least expect it! But what actually causes a volcano to form? Although.
Volcanoes: Nature’s Awesome Power By Maryann Dobeck.
Main Idea: Types of Volcanoes
Three different types of volcanoes exist; Volcano An opening in Earth’s crust through which igneous matter (lava, ash, cinder, and gases) are erupted.
Volcanoes are vents in the ground where magma from inside the Earth forces its way to the surface and escapes in an eruption. There are about 1,510 active.
Volcanoes. What is it?? It is... an opening, or rupture, in the Earth's surface or crust, which allows hot melted rock, volcanic ash and gases to escape.
Volcanoes. What do you know about volcanoes? What would you like to know?
Volcano Volcano is a rupture in a planet's crust which allows hot lava, ash and gases to escape from below the surface. Volcanoes are generally found where.

A volcano is a mountain or hill through which molten rock, also known as lava and gases, erupt.

Volcanoes C Volcano A mountain formed when red-hot melted rock flows through a crack onto the earth’s surface A mountain formed when red-hot melted.
Terrific heat, chocking ash, and stream of molten lava all occur when a volcano erupts. Have you watched the movie Dante’s Peak? Imagine what they went.

Volcanoes. Volcanoes are openings in the Earth’s surface. When they are active they can let ash, gas and hot magma escape in spectacular eruptions.
Volcanoes can form at any point where the crust is weak. They mostly form along boundaries of Earth’s plates because that is where the rocks tend to be.

Natural Disasters

Natural Disasters What is a volcano ? A volcano is an opening or rupture, in a planet’s surface or crust, which allows hot magma, volcano ash and gases to escape from below the surface.

Where do you find volcanoes ? Natural Disasters Where do you find volcanoes ? The largest volcano on Earth is Hawaii’s Mauna Loa. Mauna Loa is about 10km tall from the sea floor to the summit. The most active volcano in the continental USA is Mt. Helens (in (western Washington State). The largest volcano in our Solar System is Olympus Mons on the planet Mars.

Natural disasters How does a volcano start ? First a volcano makes something called magma from melted rock. It has to form at the bottom of the volcano and then starts its way up to the main vent. It usually takes a long time. The magma goes up to the main vent slowly while it is still getting hotter – this turns into lava. The lava blasts out of the volcano along with ash rocks, and a cloud of dust that is very thick.

Natural Disasters What to do if I am in a dangerous place ? If you are in a dangerous place you must RUN to a safe place and wait ! A volcano is very dangerous and a lot of people have died because of it .

Natural Disasters ? conclusion What is the The conclusion is that a volcano is a very dangerous natural disaster which can cause death to many people and destroy homes and even cities or villages. In these volcanic areas the inhabitants must always be sure to protect themselves and find a safe place during the time when the volcano erupts.
