Presentation transcript:

Target Audience The target audience for my magazine is young people within the age range of 16-21. I am going to generalise the topics within the magazine in order for it to be relevant to people of different racial and religious backgrounds. The theme of the magazine will focus on urban fashion which is a trend most young people are currently on, which is why I am confident it will be more relatable. The articles within the magazine will have mainly Images and brief interviews , I am aware young people may glance at the pages instead of reading paragraphs about the latest fashion trends which is why I will include at least one paragraph focusing on a young individual referring to their look book and favourite brands. I will also include images of young people due to the expected ‘image’ young individuals should attempt to look like, I would like to go against the expectations society have towards youths toward their appearance .

In order to emphasise the importance of the model place the mast head behind them Sans-serif masthead The medium close up allows you to see the model as well as the outfit they are wearing. Place the issue number in the corner of the magazine front cover.

List the items of the clothing the model is wearing in the photo. Most fashion magazines have models that look directly at the Camera during photo shoots. Edit : create a gradient effect on your image. Interviewee’s name above the text Brief interview with the model Credit to the writer of the article.

Group shot could be used to create the multiple street styles in the article. Credit to the Photographer Set the photo shoot outdoors, due to the street style theme of the article.

Secondary Research This statistic illustrates the proportion of young people who read magazines outside of class in the United Kingdom from 2005 to 2015. The percentage of school children aged 8 to 18 years who read magazines. This study was constructed by Statista website. The bar chart allows me to see how many young people read magazines. The number of youths that do read magazines has decreased by 5.6% within a year. Which is why I would like to be able to question youths and include content they can relate to in order to attract them to the articles within the magazine.

W magazine is a monthly American magazine published by Condé Nast 80% of the magazine's readers are female, although I am targeting both males and females most of the fashion trends I will be referring to will be for mainly females. They review street styles often in their magazines as well as on their websites, which is similar to the magazine I am constructing.

Primary Research I created a survey in order to have an idea of how much my target audience know about street styles and also what they are interested in to make the content in magazine interesting to them. I also had a one on one interview with a college student, this will be included in the magazine as an article. The results from my survey allow me to construct my article in a way that my audience will be interested in the magazine. Both males and females completed the surveys and also people ages 13-17 filled out the survey, therefore the results will come from different perspectives.
