Rhythm section progress through time… 1900 Ragtime; 1920 Chicago Style Jazz/Gypsy Jazz; 1930 Swing; 1940 Bebop/ R&B; 1950 Cool Jazz/ Mainstream/Hard Bop/Bossa Nova; 1960 Modal/Free Jazz; 1970 Blues/Funk/Fusion; 1980 Afro-Cuban/Post-bop/ Acid Jazz; 1990 Smooth Jazz/ West Coast Jazz; 2000 Jazz Rap.
