INTRODUCTION COCOON : INDOOR Material Multi-layer Polyethylene Color Green Thickness 100 µ Weight 97.5 gsm Fabrication High frequency welding Sealing Zip lock OTR 3 + 1 cc/m2/day WVTR 4 + 1 g/m2/day Reusable/ Recyclable Yes

DESCRIPTION In order to deal effectively with infestation, changes in moisture content and oxidation while storing agricultural commodities, GrainPro has developed the Ultra-Hermetic Cocoon™. GrainPro offered a low cost design of the traditional Cocoon™ using multi layer Polyethylene (PE) with a special Gas Barrier property called Cocoon Indoor™. Since the Cocoon Indoor™ is made of a material which is 90% lighter than the traditional Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC); it can be manufactured in custom made sizes to fit high stacks and proprietary dimensions; The Cocoon Indoor™ can also be used as a fumigation chamber by flushing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) into the inlet port at the bottom while an open portion of the zip-lock on top will serve as an exhaust port to expel the air. The flushed CO2 reduces the oxygen (O2) level for the immediate preservation of stored product quality and control of infestation.

2 3 PROCEDURES INSTALLATION: Look for a smooth floor area. Prepare the site by clearing away all sharp objects (stones, nails, etc.) that may puncture the Cocoon Indoor. 2 Place a mat or thick cardboard on the floor where the Cocoon Indoor will be placed for additional protection of the Cocoon Indoor. 3 Carefully open the Cocoon Indoor package and unfold the Cocoon Indoor. Place the Cocoon Indoor on the selected site.

Roll the sides of the Cocoon Indoor so that they will not be caught under the load or run over by the forklift. 5 LOADING: Check the moisture content (MC) of the commodity to ensure the MC is at a safe level. 6 Make sure the bottom section is stretched by pulling the corners.

Place another layer of mat or cardboard inside the Cocoon Indoor to protect the liner during loading. 8 Continue the loading (mechanical or manual) by placing the load as close as possible to each other to maximize the load capacity. 9 Make sure that the stack height is not greater than the Cocoon Indoor permissible stack height.

CLOSING: Unroll the sides of the Cocoon Indoor toward the top of the stack. 11 Put ends of Cocoon Indoor together to make way for sealing. 12 Manually zip a few centimeters enough to initially engage the combo slider.

Position the slider on the manually zipped portion of the ziplock. 14 One will do the zipping and the other will hold the other end steady making both sections of the zipper straight line to avoid zipper length difference. 15 If uneven zipper ends are obtained, both ends of the zipper should be slightly stretched and do the zipping from end to end.

Fold extra liner and tape it against the stack. Ensure that no liner is stuck in-between doors. 17 CO2 FLUSHING (OPTIONAL): CO2 cylinders are available with or without dip tube. For rapid flushing, the cylinder without dip tube should be inverted. 18 Makeshift inverter can be made using sand bags or other improvised technique. However, the cylinders with siphon should be in upright position during flushing.

A recommended Snap-on standard pressure kit should be connected between the cylinder and the gas inlet valve. 20 Open a small portion of the zip lock (approx. 20cm) to serve as an outlet port to release air from inside the Cocoon Indoor. 21 Use a weighing scale to determine the weight of the gas. Open the inlet valve and re-seal the open ziplock of the Cocoon Indoor.

23 CYLINDER REPLACEMENT: Disconnect the pressure kit, inspect the inlet port for any dry ice formation and wait for at least five minutes then continue purging. 23 GAS MEASUREMENT: Using oxygen analyzer.
