Transform how you run your business Microsoft Office365 9/11/2018 Transform how you run your business Devices Cloud Social Control Fast and fluid experience with touch, pen, mouse & keyboard Immersive touch-optimized Windows 8 apps Support for Windows phone, iOS & Android phones Leads with what they can deliver to end users End user want it today How can we help you do that Use slide to detail scenario that best aligns to customer needs Transition to what would happen if you applied your traditional methodology to get this enabled Let me now introduce The new Office.   In this release we have completely modernized Office to meet this changing world of work, and as such we’re delivering significant innovation across core four areas: devices, cloud, social & IT control. Let me give you an overview on what we believe is of the most significant value to businesses. Later on, I will get into more detail for each of these areas. Let’s start with Devices. We have modernized the entire Office user interface. We have made it more engaging and delightful with a clean, fast and fluid experience. And they all work great with touch, pen, mouse & keyboard. The new Office works great across all your devices, but on Windows 8 it shines, you get a more immersive, touch-optimized experience. You will find delightful features, such as using your fingertips to pinch and zoom, in & out while presenting on PowerPoint, or pinch & zoom your Outlook calendar out, for a month view. The Office Mobile apps are available on Windows phone. OneNote and Lync Mobile are available today on iOS & Android phones. Office Mobile gives you a consistent, yet platform-optimized Office experience. Next is Social, here you will also find significant innovation. The way people collaborate and communicate is changing, so we’ve built the new Office to enable people to work in new, more productive ways. A big part of this is about bringing social networking capabilities into the enterprise. The new SharePoint provides an enterprise Newsfeed that lets you share ideas and get answers in real time. It also brings popular social networking features like ‘Hashtags’, ‘likes’, and the ability to ‘@’ mention a colleague in a post. You also are able to follow colleagues, documents & sites. Yammer. Yammer already integrates with SharePoint and over time we’re looking at having more and more connections with SharePoint, Office 365 and Skype. We made social capabilities pervasive across Office. The people card is a great example. It aggregates all information for people, including enterprise feeds like email & calendar, and social networking feeds like Facebook & LinkedIn, so you can get a unified view of your people. The people card also provides rich presence information and is a launch point for all communications & collaboration modalities available in Office: like schedule a meeting, sending an email, starting an IM, as well as voice & video. With the new Office you can easily host and participate in more effective online meetings, with multiparty HD video conferencing, document sharing and real-time note taking with OneNote. Skype. The new Office will connect Lync and Skype users, so you will be able to IM and talk to millions of Skype users right from Office. Next is Cloud. This is a transformational aspect for the new Office, as the new Office was re-architected for the cloud. This means that … Office 365 TPs … Office is now a service – is available on-demand, it roams with you and is always up-to-date. We have taken a fresh look at how the Office apps get installed and updated, by re-architecting Office using application virtualization technologies. The Office apps are now streamed from Office 365 to your Windows device (Windows 7 and higher) in real time, so you can start using the new Office in a few moments. The new Office is always logged-in and saves to the cloud by default. When you sign into Office you get roaming settings and quick access to your documents stored in SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro & SharePoint online. To fully leverage the power of the cloud, we created a new cloud application development model for Office. By combining cloud services and web technologies, this new class of apps, will extend and personalize the way we create and consume information from within Office and SharePoint. Last but not least, Office 365 is an enterprise-grade cloud productivity solution with robust security, guaranteed reliability and compliant with world-class industry standards, including ISO-27001, EU Model clauses, HIPAA and FISMA. Finally, there is Control. We hear from businesses that they would like to harness the benefits of the cloud, but in a safe and secure way that keeps them in Control of their business data. With the new Office and Office 365, you get the cloud without compromising your business’s privacy, security or control. Let’s start with DLP, data retention & unified eDiscovery DLP is about keeping business communications secured while in transit. We have built-in data loss prevention controls to give you the flexibility to manage the passage of sensitive information in and out of your environment. A great example is what we call, PolicyTips that will warn you about unintended policy violations, when sending email. Exchange scans your email & attachments, checks against centrally managed policies and will warn you about sensitive content like credit card or social security numbers. We help you manage “Data at rest” with integrated archiving and data hold capabilities. With centrally managed, or user assigned policies, you can retain and archive data at the folder, conversation, or individual message level. With advanced search technology, the new Office unifies the eDiscovery process by letting you retrieve content stored across Exchange, SharePoint, Lync or file shares. Office deployment has been totally reimagined. We have re-architected the Office client installation process using application virtualization technologies. Most deployment blockers are removed as Office can now run side-by-side with older versions of Office. Updates are loaded in the background, so your Office apps are always up-to-date without the need to manually install service updates. IT push deployments methods are still supported, if required. We have improved the Office 365 management experience. We simplified the management experience across Exchange, SharePoint and Lync in Office 365, with a new and improved admin console. Office - on demand, roaming & up-to-date New cloud app development model Enterprise-grade reliability and standards Newsfeeds & microblogging, extend with Yammer Pervasive social capabilities across Office Multiparty HD video & Skype federation DLP, data retention & unified eDiscovery Reimagined deployment model for Office apps Common management experience across Office 365 © 2012 Microsoft Corporation. Compliance: Email archiving and retention Microsoft Lync 9/11/2018 Compliance: Email archiving and retention Preserve Search In-Place Archive Governance Hold eDiscovery Secondary mailbox with separate quota Managed through EAC or PowerShell Available on-premises, online, or through EOA Automated and time- based criteria Set policies at item or folder level Expiration date shown in email message Capture deleted and edited email messages Time-Based In-Place Hold Granular Query-Based In-Place Hold Optional notification Web-based eDiscovery Center and multi-mailbox search Search primary, In-Place Archive, and recoverable items Delegate through roles-based administration De-duplication after discovery Auditing to ensure controls are met Situation To keep up with growing and changing regulatory environments, organizations need custom, easy-to- implement email archiving capabilities that do not interfere with user workflows. Slide objective Audience should understand how they can get robust email archiving and discovery tools without burdening the IT department or users. Talking points Exchange 15 offers you new, integrated email archiving tools that can help you preserve and discover email data, without having to change the way your users or IT admins work. In this latest release are such features as: An In-Place Archive that seamlessly surfaces in both Outlook and Outlook Web App. This secondary mailbox appears as a set of folders in your users’ email clients, allowing them to use familiar tools and actions to manage both live and archived email data. For administrators, the very same admin tools used to manage other aspects of Exchange, such as the Exchange Administration Center or PowerShell, can be used to configure and enable this In-Place Archive. Retention policies that allow IT staff to define, deploy, and automate the expiry and archiving of email data. These new policies are both granular and flexible, and can be set at either the folder or item level. Exchange 15 has a in-place hold policy that, when enabled on a user’s items, retains any edits or deletions made by the user under hold. This feature also enables rolling hold capability to allow hold for a period of time. The new, easy to use, eDiscovery Center can be delegated to specialist users—such as a compliance officer or human resources personnel—to conduct e-discovery tasks, without having to generate additional overhead for the IT department. This also allows compliance officers to set Time-Based In-Place Holds to ensure that data is held for specific periods of time for eDiscovery purposes. Query-Based In-Place Hold allows a compliance officer the ability to specify filters such as date, document type, sender, and free text KQL (there are others). If these filters are met, the data will be kept on hold. © 2012 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
