Event Announcement Process (forms) Unit Manual - www.naswnj.org Instructions on Announcing and Hosting an Event Information for Speakers Sheet Online Announcement Form Event Sign-In Sheet REVISED Request for Payment Event Summary Form

Reimbursement Submit the following documents no later than 30 days after your event Receipt, Sign-in-sheet, Request for Reimbursement Reimbursement checks will be received within 2 weeks)

Promote Your Unit Event Schedule & Promote Your Event to NASW Members (in this order please): Complete Online Event Announcement Form; The event will be posted on NASW-NJ Calendar. Send an email to your Unit Members to announce event. Note: please wait until staff has posted the event to the website calendar before you send out emails to your members, so you can include the Registration Link and ask members to register online. Staff will send # of registrants to Unit Leaders the day before or day of event. The Chapter will promote the event in newSWire™. Send out 2 reminder emails to your Unit Members: one two weeks before the event and another a few days before event; Promotion should not imply endorsement of a specific person, product, or service by NASW or NASW-NJ.

CEU Incentive for Unit Leaders Unit Leadership Training = 1 CEU Voucher 4 Unit events = 1 CEU Voucher You may receive a maximum of 5 CEU Vouchers during any given fiscal year. CEU Vouchers are not redeemable for the Annual Conference or special CEU events. CEU Vouchers may not be transferred to other members.

CEU Incentive for Unit Leaders 1 (Spring) Training = 1 CE Voucher 1 (Fall) Training = 1 CE Voucher 4 Unit Events(Jan-Apr) = 1 CE Voucher 4 Unit Events (May-Aug)= 1 CE Voucher 4 Unit Events (Sept-Dec) = 1 CE Voucher TOTAL (Maximum) = 5 CE Vouchers per year

Engage Unit Members PR in FOCUS and NW Expand Unit participation If you plan your Unit Events in advance, we can publish 6-month schedule (FOCUS) TAKE PHOTOS! Unit page(s) in FOCUS. We need 3 sentences and some pictures (FOCUS and/or NW). Photo Gallery on website. Expand Unit participation CE programs at Unit Events – Contact Kendra Coordinate and Collaborate with PPSIG in your area Quarterly meetings

CEU Policy for Units Units can offer CEU events as a way to encourage attendance and recruitment. Two CEU workshops exclusive for the Unit each year Call Kendra Hayes, Director of Continuing Education, at least 60 days in advance, to discuss topics and schedule program. Identify and reserve free location (minimum of 30 seats). Check with your Unit members ~ they often have ideas for program locations including agencies, schools or libraries. Chapter will promote event ONLY to Unit Members Promote your event to your members through your Group Email Chapter will mail CEU materials and instructions to Chair

Role of Regional Reps Regional Reps serve as the Board liaison to Unit leaders (Chair, Co-chair, Steering Committee) Will hold one meeting a quarter with Unit Chairs in their Region via phone or in person to provide support, mentor facilitate communications, activities to Units. Regional Reps will attend at least 1 meeting, or more if possible, of each Unit in their Region per year Regional Reps will communication information from Unit Leaders to the Board in written reports. When a position becomes vacant, will help identify potential Unit leaders.
