Working smarter Work smarter not harder! http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomasclaveirole/454394799/ 6

You will all be starting with a literature search, making sure no-one else has written your thesis! This means you will need too use large bibliographic databases to find information – Google won’t do! We are running sessions on information sources this semester. Book your place on them through Gradbook. We are also running other sessions to help you

Working smarter Library provided sessions bookable via Gradbook www.gradbook.soton.ac.uk ECS Southampton Graduates ONLY 25/10/16 9.30-11.00 Hartley , Rm 4075 ECS PGRs NEW TO SOUTHAMPTON UNI 9/11/16 9.15-11.00 Hartley, Rm 4075 ECS PGRs 4/12/16 14:00-15:30 Hartley, Rm 4075 ECS PGRs 7/02/18 13:00 -14:30 Hartley, Rm 4075 PHYSICS & OCR 5/10/17 10:00-12:00 Hartley, Rm 4077 OR 12/10/17 14:30-16:30 Hartley, Rm 4077 Finding information sessions are dates tbc Endnote for FPSE sessions are tbc You may not think that you need to start thinking about your e-theses this early, but it really does make you life easier! Templates, clearing copyright on graphs and diagrams etc are all things it is easier to think about from the start. Research data is increasingly important as both an output of your research in itself for also for open science and verficiation of research. Good data curation principles are important.
