Objectives Understand and Identify Characterization in Lord of the Flies. Analyze sentences to identify verbal phrases. Homework: Bring R&J on Monday.

Warm up Instructions: Find the gerunds, gerund phrases, participles, participial phrases, infinitives or infinitive phrases in these sentences, tell what kind of verbal they are, and how they are used. 1. Signs hung too high can't be read. 2. You know my weakness, eating late at night. 3. Your weeping and wailing will not change a thing. 4. To decorate for the dance will cost too much.

Project Requirements 1. Title slide -> with group’s names 2. Introduce your character -> Name, role in story, what kind of character are they. 3. Slide with Illustration -> Create a picture of your character that shows their personality and role in the story. 4. Slide with Dialogue -> examples of the character’s speech with explanations. 5. Slide with Actions -> examples from the text that depict the character’s actions. These must be explained to demonstrate characterization.

LOTF presentations You will have 5 minutes per presentation. Everyone has to say something about their portion. The audience should remain quiet and take notes.
