Italy The Italian Flag stands for many different things, here are two examples. The red stands for the bravery during the roman times. The white stands for the purity and faith. The green stands for all the plantation in the country. Red=charity White=faith Green=hope

Italy The “BOOT” country is surrounded by water on three sides and more than 600 miles long. Rome is also the capital of Italy

Population The population of Italy in 2010 was 60,157,214. That is a fraction of the population of The United States 311,085,086. Italy is considered to be an average populated country.

Life Expectancy The average life expectancy at birth for an Italian is 79.54 years. This is a relatively high age compared to neighboring countries in Europe.

Religion Italy is the spiritual and administrative headquarters of the Catholic branch of the Christian religion. One third of the population are Christian and attend the Roman Catholic Church. Every year there are several feasts and festivals that have their origins in the Christian religion. The majority of marriages in Italy still take place in a church and are administered by an official man of religion. First Holy Communion which is a right of passage for all young members of the Catholic religion is observed by the majority of people of Italy.

Language Italian is the official language of Italy, and 93% of population are native Italian speakers. Around 50% of population speak a regional dialect as mother tongue. Many dialects are mutually unintelligible and thus considered by linguists as separate languages, but are not officially recognized. Holiday FERRAGOSTO Next to Christmas, Easter, and New Years, Ferragosto is one of the most celebrated holidays in Italy. Celebrated on the fifteenth of August, it celebrates the rise of Mary up to heaven to join her son Jesus, taking her place by his side to look after those of us remaining here on Earth. It is a day of great festivities with celebrations in the streets and prayers to the Virgin Mary for thanks and support. All of Italy shuts down to celebrate Ferragosto. Ferragosto is a sort of second New Year's eve, with parties and celebrations.

Fettuccine Alfredo 1/2 lb (225 grams) butter (should be at room temperature) 1 cup double cream, very lightly whipped 1/2 lb (225 grams) Parmesan cheese (freshly grated) salt and freshly ground pepper parmesan cheese (grated) Method: 1. Start making the sauce relative to cooking time of the fettuccine pasta. 2. In a large pan, melt the butter over low heat. 3. Slowly add the lightly whipped double cream to the pan, whisking continually. 4. Stir continuously until the sauce is hot and slightly reduced. 5. Still stirring, slowly add grated cheese. The sauce should thicken. 6. Add salt and pepper to taste. 7. Drain pasta and add it to the sauce. Mix well. 8. Serve immediately. 9. Place a bowl of extra Parmesan cheese on the table so that your guests can help themselves.

Rome Rome is the most tourist attracted city in Italy. In Rome you can visit the popular colosseum, visit ancient museums, or explore Pompeii. In Italy there is always something for you to do. You can attend festivals, carnivals, celebrations. Also, you can explore museums, tour ancient chapels, or go to the beach for the day.
