Choose a ROLE Possibilities: Miner trapped in the mine Miner survivor Wife of miner Child of miner Miner owner Mayor of Scofield

Choose an AUDIENCE Who are you speaking to? Your family? Your fellow miners? Citizens of Scofield? U.S. President? Mining company?

Choose a FORMAT Possibilities: Personal journal, letter, essay, newspaper article, poem, etc

Choose a TOPIC What are you writing about? Losing a loved one? Mining conditions? An apology? Life as a miner, miner’s wife, miner’s child? Changes that should be made?

Requirements: Must be half a page (7-10 sentences) written or typed (if re-writing it at home to turn in on Tuesday) List your Role, Audience, Format, and Topic at the top Give a thoughtful analysis of the Scofield Mine Disaster
