Common Processes to Validate Changes Live Values that Return People Home Safely Every Person. Every Site. Every Day.

Common Processes to Validate Changes Many current processes are used to mitigate risks and hazards prior to implementing changes. Current processes such as chemical control committees, PIV committees, GMS (Change Control), Employee transfer processes, Pre Task Planning, etc. These processes meet the intent of Management of Change as long as they address the risks and hazards equivalent to the Management of Change process. Management of Change does not replace any of the existing processes. Live Values that Return People Home Safely Every Person. Every Site. Every Day.

The “1 + 3” MOC Approach Question 1 Question 2 Question 3 Question 4 Begin Exact Replacement? The first question you ask for all changes. No Will the change create or expose ”new” hazards to people? Question 2 No Will the change create or expose “new” hazards to processes Question 3 No Will the change create or expose “new” hazards to property? Question 4 No Perform the Change Yes Yes Change Validation Checklist is initiated Live Values that Return People Home Safely Every Person. Every Site. Every Day.

The “1 + 3” MOC Validation Flow (With Common Process) No Perform the Change Yes Stop!!!!!! Contact Your Leader for further action. Question 1 Question 2 Question 3 Question 4 Begin Will the change create or expose “new” hazards to people? Will the change create or expose “new” hazards to processes? Will the change create or expose “new” hazards to property? Exact Replacement? If applicable use existing processes to mitigate risk(s) and hazards? Note: Must be equivalent to MOC! PPCR Programmable Safety System (RUST Process) Red Tag Buyoff Procedure G-Comply Chemical Control Committee (HMCC) Layout Reviews PIV Committee Here is the integration of the current processes. You should always start with the exact replacement question. If the answer is no, do you have an existing process to mitigate the risks and hazards? These processes must be equivalent to MOC before you can use this as a validation tool consistent with MOC. This has been the most asked question since the development and implementation of Management of Change. Do a comparison of your existing process and determine if it meets the intent of MOC.] If it does great. If not can you modify the existing process to meet the intent of MOC? Or maybe you don’t have a current process and you want to develop a new process. That is fine but kep in mind it must meet the intent of MOC. Live Values that Return People Home Safely Every Person.
