Medieval Warriors

Medieval Knights Medieval Knights were great warriors and were important fighters in medieval wars. The Battles depended on how many Knights were there. Knights used to be men who proved themselves in battle.

King Arthur King Arthur is seen as a real historical figure. King Arthur Owned the Legendary sword, Excalibur. Although he is surrounded by many myths and tales. He supposedly lived in the 5th or 6th century. He was thought to have led the Britons to fight against the Saxons. However there is not much evidence for his existence.

Richard The Lionheart Richard the Lionheart who is also Richard the first of England. He reigned from 1157-1199 as King of England. He proved himself as a great military leader when he went to fight in the third crusade as a knight Templar. He died in 1199 when he was hit by an arrow while attacking the Chalus-Chabrol Castle.

El Cid El Cid was a Castilian knight who lived in the 11th century. His real name was Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar and was a Spanish hero. His greatest achievement was successfully capturing the kingdom-city of Valencia in the year of 1094. He died from natural causes but some said he died from an injury in battle.

Alexander Nevsky Alexander Nevsky was a prince of Novgorod but also grand prince of Vladimir. He was a Russian military leader. He lived in the 13th century. He is well known for defeating the Livonian brothers of the sword who were a part of the Teutonic Order. He died in 1263 and is known as a national hero.

Edward the black prince Edward of Woodstock was the prince of Wales from 1330 to 1376. He was called the black prince because of the black armour he wore. He was a part of the hundred year war and took part in some of its greatest battles like the battle of Crecy in 1356. He became ill during the 1360s and then died in 1376.

William Wallace William Wallace lived in the 13th and 14th century. He is one of the greatest historical people in Scottish history. He was one of the greatest warriors to fight for Scottish independence. He was one of the leaders of the Scottish rebellion against England. In 1298 he was defeated in the battle of Falkirk and had to go into hiding. He was captured in 1305 and was taken to London and executed for his treason.
