Local Option - COVA Health Insurance Plan November 14, 2017 - Update

Senate Bill 364 – 2016 General Assembly Directs Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) to develop a plan under the local option health insurance plan with benefits similar to those in the state employee health insurance plan using a single rating group. Based on the COVA Care Basic plan Anthem BlueCross BlueShield August 2, 2016 Notification from DHRM September 14, 2016 Deadline for Preliminary, Non-Binding Interest submission October 14, 2016 Deadline for data submission to Aon

Preliminary Rates February 22, 2017 Notification by DHRM 210 groups had expressed interest 102,390 potential enrolled employees 204,029 potential enrolled members Minimum of 5,000 employees & 10,000 members required July, 2018 – target date for plan to be offered Preliminary rates for COVA Local for FY2019 projected to be the same as rate for state COVA Care Basic plan

Final Rates Round Two March 29, 2107 – Second Preliminary, Non-Binding Interest submission May 15, 2017 Deadline for data submission to Aon Extended to June 1, 2017 ACPS exempt since we had not had a renewal September 8, 2017 – Supplied Aon renewal information Aon questioned why <75% participation November 2, 2017 – Release of Final Rates Minimum of 5,000 employees & 10,000 members Additional details to follow concerning sign-up
