The Tees Valley Combined Authority The 5 Councils and the Local Enterprise Partnership The review concluded that a CA for the Tees Valley would: Provide greater certainty for business to attract more inward investment Speed up decision-making Improve transport infrastructure and skills Provide a stronger role in marketing and promoting the Tees Valley as a place to do business Provide greater transparency and accountability, and Get us ready for devolution 5 Leaders / Mayor plus LEP representative Expected 1 April 2016

Our devolution deal Bespoke deal fit for the Tees Valley Focuses entirely on Economic Development and Growth It brings with it £450m of extra funding over 30 years – that is £15m a year The deal includes: A Tees Valley investment fund More power to direct spending of European money Changes to Business Rates

Our devolution deal cont.. A Development Corporation to deliver housing and employment opportunities Transport projects Support for business and industry More say over skills and helping people getting into work Support for cultural projects Commitment to support economic growth post SSI and other economic shocks
