Professional Designations The NAIFA LUTCF stands for Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, a longstanding industry designation. Successful insurance and financial services careers are deeply rooted in product knowledge and effective sales skills. The new NAIFA LUTCF curriculum, developed in partnership with the College for Financial Planning, combines product-focused education with hands-on sales training to help newer advisors thrive in a competitive industry. In addition, NAIFA membership includes substantial discounts to the industry’s leading educational institutions: College for Financial Planning (CFFP): 15% discount for NAIFA members. It is comprised of two studies—one that focuses on the “Market and the Future” and the other that focuses on the ”Advisor of the Future”.  According to the findings, among the market drivers that will shape advisors’ practices in the future are: baby boomers, new generations and the underserved middle market, and the changing business environment. The six change drivers for 2020 are: practice development in a diverse economy; the shifting needs of consumers and advisors; technology for powerful sales and service; managing privacy and security in the networked age; advanced tools and insights for advisors and consumers; and shifting business models that redefine the industry.   The book is available on the NAIFA Marketplace and a half-day workshop where the findings will be presented and which will include activities to help participants incorporate them into their practices will debut at the NAIFA 2014 Career Conference and Annual Meeting.
