MARSEILLES' SPECIALITIES

THE « PASTIS » Pastis is an anise- flavored liquor and aperitif from France, typically containing 40– 45% alcohol by volume.

THE « BOUILLABAISSE » The Bouillabaisse is a traditional Provençal fish stew originating from the port of Marseille.

THE « SAVON DE MARSEILLE » Marseille soap or Savon de Marseille is a traditional soap made from vegetale oils that have been made around Marseille, France.

THE « PETANQUE » Pétanque is a form of boules where the goal is to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet.

THE « PAN-BAGNAT » The sandwich is composed of a circle shaped white bread around the classic Salad, a salad composed mainly of raw vegetables, hard boiled eggs, anchovies and tuna, and olive oil.

THE «PANISSE» The Panisse is a culinary specialty of Ligurian origin known and appreciated also in south-eastern France from Nice to Marseilles. The Panisse is composed with chickpea flour.
