Nouns, Pronouns, adjs.

Common vs. Proper Common – categories, general Example: Proper – names, specific

Nouns Person Example: Place Thing Idea

Pronouns Take the place of a noun. For example: He, she, it, etc. Lebron James abandoned Cleveland because he did not want to play there. Name the two pronouns.

Antecedent The word that a pronoun replaces. Lebron James abandoned Cleveland because he didn’t want to play there. What are the pronouns? What is the antecedent of each pronoun? Mr. Wyatt wanted to go to the movies, but his English class would not go with him, so he cried.

Adjectives Describe/modify nouns Ex. Mr. Wyatt drives a dark red car called, “The Red Baron.” Identify the adjectives.

Journals 12 sentences (unless I say otherwise). Divided into paragraphs (where appropriate). Neatly written ALWAYS skip lines when you write. You get one warning and then you must re-type your journal entries at home and turn them into me. There are no excuses for being sloppy with your schoolwork.

Journal: Nouns, Prons., Adjs. TOPIC: Imagine you’ve been lost in the woods for a month, eating only berries and drinking rainwater. Describe eating the first meal you have when you get back to civilization.
