The geography of the united states

North America is one of the seven continents that make up our earth. The United States of America and Canada make up two important and large countries on this continent. The United States is the third largest country in the world in terms of area after Russia and Canada.

Landforms Ranges of mountains extend throughout the united states. 1- The Rocky Mountains 2- The Sierra Nevada 3- Appalachian mountains 4- Cascades Mountain 5- The Coast Range Mountains

The Rocky Mountains They extend from the Mexican frontier in the United States to Canada then to eastern Alaska.

The Sierra Nevada This range is in eastern California.

The Appalachian Mountains They stretch from central Alabama in The United States to the Canadian provinces.

The Cascades ranges They stretch from California and across Oregon and Washington.

The Coast Range Mountains They run along the pacific Ocean coastline of California, Oregon, Washington.

Plains Coastal Plain Great Plains The flat land extending from southern and southeastern united states to the continental shelves. Great Plains They are on north America, which slope down from the rocky mountains. This land is fertile, flat and treeless.

The highest point in the united states is Mount Mckinley in Alaska.

The lowest point is Death Valley

The Climate It is tropical in Hawaii and Florida. It is arctic in Alaska. It is semi-arid in the great plains. It is arid in the great basin of the southwest. The united states has good precipitation in general.
