NHS SOS www.nhssos.org.uk Services in your area are at risk Due to chronic underfunding your CCG is heading for an overspend Deloitte have been asked to look at where savings can be made Services could be cut www.nhssos.org.uk

Why is funding a problem? East Cheshire has the fastest ageing population in the north west (2016) Government funding does not take much notice of ageing population East Cheshire is in the bottom 20% of funded areas in England East Cheshire gets ≈ £1182/resident/year, Knowsley gets ≈ £1610/resident/year (2016-2017) At practice level some GP surgeries get ≈ £100/resident/year, whilst the national average is ≈£136/resident/year www.nhssos.org.uk

Current care is good despite poor funding East Cheshire GP’s provide good care compared to the rest of the country, and are already saving money All GP’s in East Cheshire are rated as good or outstanding Preventing premature mortality (under 75) is 40% better than England's average Low referral rates – problems are managed in practice as to prevent needlessly sending you to hospital In the last year; All referrals are down 5.2% Non-emergency admissions down 4.2% A&E attendances down 0.1%, unlike the majority of the country Non-urgent admissions down 3.7% Prescribing savings of £3.6million last year 20% reduction in antibiotic prescribing in 2 years www.nhssos.org.uk

Potential cuts www.nhssos.org.uk Cuts HAVE started Funding to St. Anne’s Hospice has been stopped Handforth X-Ray department has closed What is next? Longer waiting times to see GP’s and to receive procedures Limits to what you can be prescribed Stopping local blood test appointments Loss of community clinics Means testing for continuing health care Increasing thresholds to qualify for treatments www.nhssos.org.uk

What can YOU do? www.nhssos.org.uk Contact your local politicians Ask for a fair deal for East Cheshire Download a template letter from www.nhssos.org.uk Read what is happening Talk, so we can have an honest and open debate www.nhssos.org.uk
