Business Continuity Readiness (Learning) Slide #1 Business Continuity Readiness (Learning) Switch on recording and then proceed to the next 4 slides, please read them aloud and we would be able to ascertain that you have successfully setup the video and audio requirements for Collaborate

Guidelines on DOs during BCR-Learning Slide #2 Guidelines on DOs during BCR-Learning Make Lecture Slides and Tutorial Questions available at least a day in advance before the affected Lecture or Tutorial date. Use the Discussion Forum to simulate a Q&A session for the Lecture. Use the Collaborate Virtual Classroom tool to deliver a real-time lecture or real-time Tutorial session.

Guidelines on DOs during BCR-Learning Slide #3 Guidelines on DOs during BCR-Learning Lecturers who find voice-over for PowerPoint Lecture slides useful may also use Collaborate to prepare, record & deliver a pre-recorded lecture as an alternative to PowerPoint with voice. Do regular housekeeping to ensure announcements, staff information and teaching & learning materials posted on MeL(Blackboard) are up to date.

Guidelines on DON’Ts during BCR-Learning Slide #4 Guidelines on DON’Ts during BCR-Learning DO NOT conduct any online quiz or online assessment that counts toward a final mark. The online quiz or survey should only be used for student’s self-learning or for gathering feedback from them. Other than real-time virtual classroom delivery on Collaborate, DO NOT conduct sessions where large numbers of students are required to concurrently access any one particular asynchronous tool available in MeL (Blackboard) (e.g. having all your lecture cohort of 100 or more access the blog tool at a particular scheduled time). This may cause unnecessary bottlenecks in the network and server systems.

Guidelines on DON’Ts during BCR-Learning Slide #5 Guidelines on DON’Ts during BCR-Learning Example: Requiring the entire lecture group of 150 students to log in and blog or contribute on the discussion forum or undertake a survey on Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 am. This could affect the accessibility of Internet-based campus services. It is advisable that you spread the BCR-Learning activities throughout the day or the week. Do not keep any announcement that is out-dated or which is no longer valid.

Business Continuity Readiness (Learning) Slide #6 Business Continuity Readiness (Learning) Switch off recording and you may end this Collaborate session.
