Major Operational areas Kenyasi Brong Ahafo region Amasaman in the Greater Accra region Sehwi Debiso in Western Region Ejisu and Kumasi in Ashanti region Some Impacts in 2015-2016 Organized Career Development and Talent Program for students in various Senior high schools - educated 1,800 participants (13-17 years of age) Organized reading and writing clubs with Talent Program for 200+ children (6-12 years of age) Trained 24 community youth on social entrepreneurship (18+ years of age) Trained 55 orphans and vulnerable children and youth on social entrepreneurship, youth development, mentorship and leadership training.

Africa Youth in Philanthropy Network Held in Arusha, Tanzania on 29th June, 2015 and hosted by the Ikra Educational Training Centre (IETC),Tanzania and Self Help Foundation,Uganda and convened by Global Alliance for Development Foundation(GADeF) and Nexus Africa A pre-event at the African Grantmakers Network(AGN) Assembly 2015, Arusha, Tanzania, the “African Youth in Philanthropy Conference”, an interactive youth conference themed “African Youth in Philanthropy: Participation, Policy and Practice and People” took place on 30th June. We explored conversations with 100 Youth delegates from the Western, Eastern, Southern and Middle East and Northern African countries and the Diaspora, on youth-focused philanthropy and impact investing policies, best practice and broader approaches towards an inclusive development agenda in which youth in philanthropy and social entrepreneurship are key change agents Q: How can current professionals in various Philanthropic sector transfer the knowledge / resources / leadership to the next (younger) generation? Q: What are some challenges youth philanthropic organizations faced? 2.1.1. Policy (Advocate for youth focused policies) Under the broad heading of Policy, the conference sought to secure the commitment of youth while investing in youth innovations with the following specific goals:  Increased recognition of youth initiatives as a smart investment by public and private sectors.  A shared Global Fund for youth planning. 2.1.2 Participation (Youth in Philanthropy Mobilized and Engaged) The key objective of the conference under Participation focused on increasing youth participation and partnerships in Philanthropy with the goal to offer:  Grants and Technical support for youth-led initiatives to enhance the contribution of youth in Africa. 2.1.3 People (Connected African Youth) Under the category of People, the objective is to increase intercultural understanding among youth with the following actions:  Promote youth interactions, networks and partnerships with peers, professionals and advisory networks.  Launch African Youth in Philanthropy Network (AYPN).  Develop strategic partnerships in Africa and global developed 2.1.4 Practice (Developed Youth as Pacesetters and with Actions) The three main objectives under Practice focused on promoting peer-learning and mentorship opportunities in philanthropy for African youth through the following:  Connect adult mentors in philanthropy with youth.  Develop regional action plans.  Identify global thematic areas for youth in philanthropy.

Upcoming opportunity Ghana Impact Challenge A collaboration with Templo (@templocoworking) August 23rd – Sept 7th 2016 A group of 15+ inspiring people (from Brazil, USA, Canada) with diverse skills and backgrounds will meet with local entrepreneurs from Accra, Kumasi and Kenyasi. They will bring their experience in different areas, such as social innovation, youth & women empowerment, equitable and sustainable development, creative and collaborative economy, co-design and more to build lasting transformations and integrate an international network of young creatives and innovators.
