Education System in Poland

Education in public schools is free. According to Polish Constitution everyone has the right to education. Learning is obligatory for children aged 7 to 18. Education in public schools is free. According to Polish Constitution everyone has the right to education. The knowledge is obliged between 7 and 18 years old. Education in public schools is free. Według Konstytucji RP każdy ma prawo do nauki. Nauka jest obowiązkowa między 7 a 18 rokiem życia. Edukacja w szkołach publicznych jest bezpłatna.

„0 grade” Obligatory yearly pre-school preparation for 6-year-olds

It is divided into 2 steps: Primary School 8-class Primary School It is divided into 2 steps: Classes I-III (early school education) 2. Classes IV-VIII (subject teaching)

After completing 8 classes students pass an exam in subjects like math, Polish, languages and History. Exam results can open the way to further education.

4–year Secondary School Students pass matura (graduation) exam and receive certificates.

5- year Technical Secondary School On gradutation students recieve a diploma confirming thier job qualifications and „matura” certificate, after passing „matura”(graduation) exam. .

Two-stage trade (vocational) school

3-year trade school 1st stage After passing exams, graduates recieve certificates confirming thier professional qualifications and obtain basic vocational education.

2-year trade(vocational) school 2nd stage After finishing the school and passing second stage exams, a graduate recieves secondary trade education and technician diploma.
