Global ambassadors HOSTING – 2/16/2017

What is Global Ambassadors? Global Ambassadors Club is a club intended to create awareness of global issues and help you exercise your skills in research, public speaking, and teamwork Members of the Global Ambassadors Club participate in organizing the Loudoun International Youth Leadership Summit

Loudoun International Youth Leadership Summit (LIYLS) LIYLS is a summit held annually in Loudoun, bringing students from around the world to the United States for 10 days We will discuss global issues, sight see with other “delegates” and have fun meeting new people and learning about different cultures

As a host, you will… Have the Opportunity to Host Students from Australia, South Africa, South Korea, Chile, Lebanon, & Japan Meet & Interact with Delegates from 20+ Countries Go on Field Trips Have Meaningful Dialogues on Global Issues Listen to a Variety of Prominent Speakers

Hosting FAQ When Is It? How Many People Can I Host? 3/25/2017-4/05/2017 Hosts will be assigned a single delegate in normal circumstances What Countries? What Do I Need To Be A Host? Australia, South Africa, South Korea, Chile, Lebanon, & Japan Home with internet, phone, and air- conditioner Can We Coordinate Genders? A separate room for the visiting student or a shared room with the same gender host student In situations that call for it What Is The Time Commitment? After-School & Weekends Can I Attend Field Trips? Yes, depending on available space

How Do I Sign Up? Fill out our student & parent hosting surveys (BOTH must be completed to receive a hosting assignment) The links to the surveys will be emailed out, and can also be found on the Global Ambassadors page under the Activities section of the Rock Ridge website Hosting assignments will go out on March 1st A hosting informational meeting will be held on March 2nd to review details
