SDS in HACC Trial testing SDS model in HACC MercyCare partnered Perth Home Care Services Trial commenced in May 2014 – ended 2016 Key objective to develop SDS model to operate within HACC & assess its applicability & effectiveness Key element testing choice & control (pre CDC) Curtin University evaluation report due

MercyCare’s Trial Group 29 participants (PHCS 90) 17 new to HACC & 12 current SDS option offered by RAS at review 21 females & 8 males Six under the age of 65 Youngest 40 & eldest 90 3 CALD participants

Key Messages UK experience supports personalised services but there are differing views on outcomes Personalisation moving to integrated care models & direct payments Consumers employing their own worker works, its price competitive, flexible and quality option Can work in parallel with traditional service models
