Summary : 2015 July LCT Seminar at REC Event title: Seminar on Low Carbon Technologies At the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe Date and Venue: 6-7 July 2015 at REC HQ in Szentendre, Hungary Participants: 37 (policy-makers, researchers, and private sector) from 10 countries (Albania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, and Japan)

Summary : 2015 July LCT WS at REC Agenda – 5 sessions in 1.5 days: To discuss the importance of decarbonisation in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South Eastern Europe (SEE) To discuss the importance of financing low carbon technology diffusion for further emissions reductions in CEE and SEE To introduce the Joint Crediting Mechanism as a potential solution to address the above issues To share various schemes and cases under the JCM Two breakout sessions; “Prioritised Low Carbon Technologies” and “Possible Cooperation for Technology Diffusion”

Summary : 2015 July LCT WS at REC Main outcomes: Successfully co-organised the first collaborative seminar between MOEJ, IGES and REC, which welcomed 37 important stakeholders from 10 countries. Initiated building a platform to encourage policy dialogue on decarbonisation and low-carbon technologies (LCTs) between cross- continental countries. Introduced the initiatives of Japan for promoting the diffusion of LCTs and strengthened its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and South Eastern Europe
