2011 Budget (in Euro) * (49 mtgs) VAT may be recoverable

2012 Draft Budget (in Euro) based on same amount of contribution as 2011 2012 plan shows a very small surplus and thus EF3 has little flexibility to accommodate new events. Some flexibility should be maintained. * 43 meetings

Total expenses per year/income

Evolution of the EF3 carry-over History: 2007 was the year when the carry over was zero. 2008 carry over was reasonable but needed (5% of the budget) 2009 carry over was reasonable and needed for last minute meeting 2010: more expenses and a stable carry over 2011: more meeting hosted, more delegates, additional meeting roms & AV equipment Prevision for 2012: the increase of the internet bandwidth & delegates => carry-over is reducing. EF3 can not take on-board any new 2012 meeting.

3GPP meetings within the ETSI premises The report to the GA does not make clear when the ETSI building will become available for general use.  However, it is clear that it will not be available for general use in 2012 and so the earliest would be Q1 2013.  Once the real work starts (April 2012) we will get a more precise estimate.

Average cost of B&B

Cost per meeting

Cost per delegate per meeting per day

Internet data rate in 2012 (based on the PCG/OP IT recommendation threshold 50kbps/delegate )

2011 meeting cost allocation

Number of Delegates

Various points EF3 2012 LoI to be signed and returned EF3 newsletter distributed every quarter EF3 2013 Plenary meetings March: GERAN & TSGs co-located in Vienna December: Lisbon (TBC) RAN WGs twice yearly: same week, same host, different venues => very expensive for host & MCC IT support EF3 would prefer either same venue or different weeks EF3 meeting survey new format From the hosting perspective it is desirable to have RAN WG meetings at the same location even though they are not organized separately. It only complicates things for EF3 if we have different RAN WG’s at same week at different location

EF3 conclusion Increasing number of participants to 3GPPs meeting 2011 budget is balanced No additional meeting can be accepted in 2012 Over 49% meetings organised in Europe in 2012 Still good value price/delegate The EF3 quality survey reinforced the EF3 goals: Accessibility, Meeting Cost, Accommodation Cost, Environment The 2011 report was approved The 2012 plan was approved As per the budget, it was requested to provide more details on the collected VAT.

Thank you to all of You for your support & Happy Holidays
