PL6164 Analyze That - Vault Reporting and Monitoring Robert Stein Data Management Implementation Consultant Team Lead

Class summary As a CAD manager you realize the value of your data but you don't know how to get that data out of Vault software into a tangible format that you can share with others. You often have users, managers, or IT members asking you for reports on various aspects of Vault software. This session will help you to build reports using Vault software's built-in report functionality to extract data for the benefit of your user community. We will cover customizing out-of-the-box reports and creating from new to display all that rich data your users put into Vault software. We will also discuss some third-party tools that can help you with server monitoring and reporting so you can keep your vault running smoothly.

Your Instructors Based in Novi, Michigan, Robert Stein works as a data management implementation consultant for Autodesk, Inc., focusing on data management. Prior to working for Autodesk, Robert worked as a designer, CAD manager, and consultant at a variety of companies. Robert has worked on a number of large-scale implementations and custom programming projects with Autodesk manufacturing products, including Inventor software, AutoCAD Electrical software, AutoCAD Mechanical software, and the Vault software family. Robert is in his eighth year as a presenter at Autodesk University. robert.stein@autodesk.com Tim has worked in I.T. since 1982 and has operated his own company, NetWise Since 1994 offering consulting services as an systems engineer, solutions architect and systems integrator. He became involved with Autodesk in 2008 while optimizing workflows for Inventor/Vault integration into and ERP as well as selecting an FEA solution for a large Curtainwall customer. He is responsible for all things IT for his clients including management analysis, Business process analysis & acting as an HR recruiter. He is involved with system design, software/hardware selection and acquisition, implementation, training, and cross application development; acting as a facilitator between application vendors. Tim has recently joined the Autodesk team as a Data Management Implementation Consultant. He has attended AU since 2009 and has presented many classes on a variety of subjects including data management, implementation, IT, BIM & FEA. Tim.bourdois@autodesk.com

Reporting Introduction What does reporting mean to you? Maybe it means getting lifecycle statuses out of Vault Maybe it means getting a transmittal for closing down a project Maybe it means a collection of data to provide to management on a specific project Whatever it means to you, we hope that this class provides an introduction to what is possible with Vault reporting.
