Went to school up to the 5th grade Left school at age 11 when his father died in 1847 First job was as a printers apprentice in Missouri. From Missouri he went to New York and Philadelphia and worked for several newspapers In 1857 he came back to Missouri and worked as a riverboat captain. aim.uz

In 1861 Mark Twain became a silver miner in Nevada; he was unsuccessful. Oybek (1905-1968) Muso Tashmuhammad ugli (son of) Oybek was born in Tashkent in 1905. He studied at teachers technical college, and at Central Asian State University. He came in literature with his poem "Ishchiga" which was published in 1926 and with work "Tuygular" was published in 1926. Oybek described human feelings and great uphearal in lyric poetry and had a great progress in his poems as "Namatak", "Uzbekistan", "Kuyosh ulkasiga". Especially, such novels as "Kutlug qon", "Ulug yo'l", "Navoi" were the great event in the history of Uzbek literature. The novels "Uch", "Bahtigul va Sog'indiq", "Davrim jarohati" by Oybek took appropriate place in the treasure of Uzbek epos. Oybek left unwipping mark in Uzbek literature by translating (the poem) the novel in poem "Yevgeniy Onegin" by Pushkin. aim.uz

ARTHUR CONAN An author of nearly 100 books, Arthur C. Clarke’s imagination and insight influenced modern science via works like his classic '2001: A Space Odyssey.' Synopsis Born on December 16, 1917, in Minehead, England, Arthur C. Clarke established himself as a preeminent science fiction and nonfiction writer during the mid-20th century. He wrote the novels Childhood’s End and 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was adapted into a film with Stanley Kubrick. Clarke authored nearly 100 books, and many of his ideas around science had links to future technological innovations. Clarke died on March 19, 2008, in Sri Lanka. aim.uz

Tohir Malik (1946) Tohir Malik is the penname of Abdumalik o’g’li Habilov. He was born in Tashkent, studied in the evening department of the faculty of journalism at the Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan), worked at the construction an important topics are developed in the novels “Qaldirg’och” (1987). Tohir Malik was awarded the title “O’zbekiston xalq yozuvchisi” (2000) (Peoples writer of Uzbekistan). Tohir Malik is the author who published most of his works on independant days. aim.uz
